Message really common as they are crap. Spend some time diagnosing the problem before you start taking the plenum off.

Pull the CAS, PTU, MAF, Coolant Temp Sensor, TPS, AAC, FICD, & Air Regulator connectors and check for corrosion. With your description of wiggling the connectors and it gets better points to this could be at least a part of your problem.
Scrape all you can off, then use good quality spray contact cleaner and finally dielectric grease to protect them.
When the injector connectors are off, test them with a multimeter. They should be 10 to 14 ohms to be in factory spec.
If all of this doesn't do it, you will need to test the rest of the components.
Spending time to get the basics right usually corrects most issues like this
